A custom table and chair design compliments a stunning new contemporary extension to a Victorian cottage in Adelaide that has solid American Oak timber used consistently through the space for key joinery elements.
As such, the continuation this beautiful material within the Mila table and chair made perfect sense. The sophistication of the Mila range elevates and adds a unique presence and assertiveness to the space.
The solid American Oak timber is accentuated with Satin Brass and Warm Chestnut coloured Leather to give added texture and elegance.
The Mila table is the primary table of the family home, so it meets the requirement of seating up to 10 people, with key characteristics of being hard wearing, practical, and easy to maintain.
It retains a sense of inclusivity by using solid timber which retains warmth whilst being balanced with minimal, refined geometric angles.
Besides the practical aspect, the clients also wanted the chairs and table to create a large dynamic in this open space; something that provided a strong focal point to the space, yet being sensitive and not overpowering.
Accordingly, another reason the Mila table was made using solid American Oak is that is doesn’t contrast from the floor finishes (concrete with a subtle exposed aggregate).
